Our Mission & Vision

International Test Centre for CO₂ Capture Mission Statement

• To perform RD&D (Research, Development, and Demonstration) in select niche areas for which Canada has natural advantages over other nations and develop technologies that will not only help Canada meet our CO₂ emission reduction targets but will also allow export of such technologies, thereby providing a double dividend.
• To bring researchers and leaders from industry, universities, government agencies, and laboratories together to perform targeted and coordinated research activities that will yield short-term ( <10 years) and medium-term ( <25 years) technological solutions to reducing emissions.
• To bring together business leaders and decision makers to better understand the business and economic development opportunities of this area of technology development.
• To collaborate with international partners in developing technologies in select niche areas and to exchange expertise in these and areas in which Canada does not have expertise.
• To become Canada's Technology Resource Center for energy production and management technologies.

Vision

To perform RD&D work in collaboration with national and international partners in order to develop appropriate CO₂ mitigation technologies, thereby establishing Canada as the "smartest" nation in the production and use of the most sophisticated energy products, services, and technologies. To develop the "world's best" CO₂ mitigation technology in select niche areas.
