The International Test Centre develops technologies to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, especially those produced by the energy sector. Its capture techniques help decrease the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere and pave the way for new storage and disposal methods and new industrial uses for the gas. This work will help Canada respond to its international environmental commitments on climate change, while pioneering the global reduction of greenhouse gas emissions over the long term.
The centre builds on existing, internationally recognized expertise at the University of Regina and establishes Saskatchewan as a world leader in CO2 capture technology research, development, and production.
The International Test Centre has two components:
The ITC also offers one of the most well-equipped laboratories for fundamental research.
